About Me
World Travels
My parents moved to Arlington in 1982, and with the exception of going to college in Illinois and spending the first few years of married life in Memphis, I have called Arlington "home" ever since. I have taught for 17 years in public, private and charter schools and am excited to now become part of my home community's school system.
I am passionate about introducing students to great works of literature and seeing them excel in their language studies. As a member of Phi Beta Kappa, I like to approach language and literature studies not in isolation, but how they form part of a larger picture, both influencing and influenced by the circumstances around them.
I have 2 children: William, 14 and Tess, 11. Both will soon be joining me at Arlington High School. They both are honors students and are involved in athletics, scouting, and community service.
I enjoy traveling and try to go abroad about once every other year. When I'm not traveling, I'm found reading, drinking tea, training for my next 5K or half marathon, or participating in any number of activities to benefit the community.
